Position Overview:
The GM will oversee the franchise’s entire operation of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Walnut Creek. You will be accountable for achieving all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual revenue goals. Additional responsibilities include the achievement of all expense targets, finances, people, marketing, and sales initiatives. The GM is responsible for leveraging superior organizational and management skills. They analyze, oversee, and understand the nature of junk removal and the necessary tasks to keep the business running efficiently. They communicate effectively between multiple functions, ensuring seamless implementation and integration of processes and procedures.
The GM works intentionally to support a “Culture of Sales” and “Culture of Feedback” work environments to drive sales, develop team members, and foster a positive team culture among the Truck Team and their Leadership Team. The GM conducts themselves with a “Happy to Help” mindset and expects the same from all employees.
The achievement of franchise goals and enforcement of all company policies and procedures is vital to the survival, success, and growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
Branch Management & Reporting
- Responsible for overall health and P&L performance of franchise location/branch, including upholding the equity of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? brand in the franchise’s territory
- Execute quarterly performance goals, annual operating plan, and budget for their franchise
- Proactively monitor all KPIs and operational expenses to ensure targets are achieved
- Weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews and reporting
Operations & Administration
- Provide guidance and set high expectations for Operations team excellence; route planning, dispatch following internal best practices to set truck teams up for success to meet their KPIs and cost controls
- Partner with the Director of Fleet to ensure required trucks are operational, along with equipment, and supporting materials
- Create/Approve weekly staffing plans/employee schedules to ensure seamless execution of all booked jobs.
- Maintain all branch reporting and job scheduling details in related information systems
- Active management of Accounts Receivable (A/R) to establish metrics.
- Develop sustainable programs that maximize diversion/reclamation revenue and minimize costs
Sales & Marketing
- Achieve defined sales goals as outlined in annual/quarterly plan(s)
- Oversee the execution of all local field marketing tasks required to support the annual marketing plan to increase the market penetration of the franchise
- Build & Maintain ongoing relationships with customers to create opportunities for future and sustainable business
People & Culture
- Ensuring adequate hiring and retention practices are in place to attract and retain great people.
- Creating a positive and productive workplace environment, resulting in high employee morale
- Oversight of employee onboarding, training, development, including performance reviews, and growth to promote a culture that is “All About People.”

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of General Management and Team Leadership experience in a similar roll
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Willingness to travel occasionally for leadership meetings, within the US and Canada
- Strong commitment to contributing to a fast-paced company committed to growth and development
- Proficiency in the use of G-Suite and Salesforce are assets
- Driver’s license and clean driving record
